The Make Vs. Buy Decision

I hope that you have enjoyed the article "The Make Or Buy Procurement Decision."

As you might imagine due to the fact that Next Level Purchasing is run by purchasers, we do a lot of oursourcing. We're not the size of a General Motors or an ExxonMobil, so when we have a need for a task to be completed, we ask ourselves an additional question. That question is:

"Is this service going to be ongoing or is it a short-term need?"

Most of the services we buy are short-term in nature: graphic design for a project, voiceovers for our training, etc. So, we usually outsource.

If you are a smaller organization adopting the questions in the article, you may want to add this question to your list as well.
